Joe Staton is definitely one of the greats, so you scored there too. I'm thousands of miles away in the balmy Caribbean but you can bet that my inner fanboy is with you all in spirit whenever you guys attend those conventions!

- Mike 'needs to learn how to project my astral self' from Trinidad & Tobago.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8210408773928235445.post-57661985389265145242019-03-29T09:55:23.194-05:002019-03-29T09:55:23.194-05:00Awesome pix and wonderful description Doug! You can see the corners of the Artist Editions I own, and as you mentioned I have several books about comics over there. I noticed you have the Marvel and DC Encyclopedias on your shelves too ... I love those books. (Yes, I scrutinized the contents of your shelves; I think you can tell a lot about someone by their bookshelves.)Mike Wilsonhttp://www.eruditegorilla.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8210408773928235445.post-67371766359932777012019-03-28T11:04:39.551-05:002019-03-28T11:04:39.551-05:00Edo -

So humble, and happy to sign the print and my Huntress book.

I am looking forward to digging into some color Conan at some point. I was a reader of the regular mag back in the day, but really spotty. I think I now own a fair chunk of the issues with Belit, so would like to see those again.

DougDoughttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04248324005584963229noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8210408773928235445.post-45161552263016395282019-03-28T11:03:00.074-05:002019-03-28T11:03:00.074-05:00Thanks for stopping by, Redartz. Yeah, it's cool when you can meet one or more people you've got to know online in the real world.
And I have to say, Doug, I envy you for being able to meet Joe Staton - he's one of my favorite artists and I'd love to be able to shake his hand and chat with him, however briefly (and, of course, get a signature and maybe a sketch in my bound volume of Charlton's E-man).
Also, that's a fantastic haul of books. I can attest that the two of those that I have (Squadron Supreme and Golden Age) are very good.
Thanks for posting this, Doug (and thanks to Mike for the extra pics).Edo Bosnarnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8210408773928235445.post-66146016012160464472019-03-28T07:43:02.276-05:002019-03-28T07:43:02.276-05:00Excellent convention coverage, Doug! And in the b/w spirit here at "BWaB", kudos to your photo of the original art booth. Had the chance to look there briefly, but WOW, what an array that photo contains!
