  2. Merry Xmas to everybody (well, it's tomorrow, but you know what I mean) and Happy Boxing Day/St. Stephen's Day to those of us who care about such things. (Edo, I seem to recall you saying St. Stephen's Day is observed in Croatia, but it's more sombre than festive?)

    1. Yep, Mike, St. Stephen's is also a national holiday here, but in general it's just seen as an extension of Christmas (and/or an opportunity to recover from all of the feasting and merriment of the preceding day and a half). It's not particularly somber - most of the observances/customs tied to the holiday are pretty indistinguishable from Xmas; if Christmas Eve and Day are traditionally spent with family, then St. Stephen's is when you visit friends and neighbors (although that's not something that's carved in stone); in some regions there's also a tradition of caroling on that day, but only the extremely observant believers (who, much to the Catholic Church's chagrin, aren't really that numerous) make it a point to go to mass and otherwise engage in special observances to honor the martyr.

  3. Merry Christmas Doug, hope you and yours have had a fine day.

Love the cover images! Adams and Romita, that's holding a pair of Aces. It's terrific having visual access to such original art nowadays via Heritage and similar sources. How many other 'lost' pages are out there somewhere, waiting to be rediscovered...

  4. Happy holidays Doug!

That Romita cover brings back memories. The faces of both the Hulk and Luke Cage just seem like classic Marvel to me. I always wonder why Nick Fury is sometimes drawn with the headgear - if that was a look they were trying out.
